Municipal bonds and bond sales are more complex and require more contextual information than other types of credit deals. The details associated with each bond in the sales list was not extensive and did not warrant the need to link to a separate page.

The project stakeholders needed the detailed information seen in the same place at (almost) the same time.

The simple solution?

Using an accordion pattern to show relationships between entities, bonds and sales provides the context required for understanding the information at a glance with no need for loading a separate screen. With stakeholders input, I demonstrated that separate entity and sale screens were not necessary.

The default view for an entity screen displays information about the organization issuing the bond, and all the information and sales associated with that entity.

When a specific sale in the ‘Sales Module’ is clicked, content associated with that sale is displayed while the entity information remains. The use of an accordion pattern provides a richer, more relevant and contextual experience.

In the original version of the Municipal CreditView product, separate Entity and Sale screens were employed to display two sets of information. This screen shows the Sales screen that was the first screen of the two screen interaction.
